Searching for a 'fly in small spaces, like the backyard' plane I came across the WildRC IFO breed of kite-planes. Lovely thought I, I have carbon rods left over from kiting days, and rolls of ripstop nylon cloth, this should be possible.
I looked at web pictures, even a few plans. Eventually I settled on a 700mm wingspan, because that's how big my bent bit of 3mm carbon turned out to be.
